Wow! It looks like I’ve finally figured this out! Click on our “Kindergarten Times” link to see this week’s newsletter. Also, please leave a comment to let me know that you have easily navigated this site or you could let me know if this is more work for you! Please give feedback!
I’m really excited about our trip to the Polar Express. We will be taking cars. I will get more specific information to you as it becomes available. In that info, you will get DIRECTIONS! Our Christmas party is coming up soon. A note will come home about that this afternoon in folders so be on the look out for that!
We are reading so well! Keep on reading at home! Our new mini-reader will be coming home today so read, read, read! I know that they seem to come quickly, but please practice them every night. They make for good bedtime stories.
If you have any questions or concerns, please email or call me. I’ll be glad to help in any way.

This last week has been a doozy! EVERYONE read word list #1!!! I’m so excited about our reading! We’ve really been working hard! We are learning about Christopher Columbus this week and we had a really good time making “ships in a bottle”! They are hanging on the wall across the hall because we are running out of space to show off all we’ve learned!
Our first field trip is Monday! We’re heading South to Lauderdale, MS to Circle S Ranch! The pumpkin patch there is awesome but there are lots of other attractions there as well. Last year it rained on us but it didn’t stop our good time! Let’s hope for sunny and cool weather for our trip!
The next field trip we’ll be taking is to the Polar Express in Calera, AL. We will ride on a real train to the North Pole and visit with Santa! We’ll even get the first gift of Christmas! Prior to our trip, we’ll be watching “The Polar Express” in our classroom. We’ll learn about the magic of dreams and what some of the words on the movie mean, such as “believe”. We’ll wear our pajamas and have a great time on the train. I really want this to be a family event and I encourage you to bring both parents and siblings. This trip is rather costly, but it’s definitely worth all the memories.
Next week we will learn all about pumpkins and the week after we will learn about Fire Safety and Prevention. The week of October 22-26 is Homecoming week. That week we will take part in Spirit Days and wear all the crazy things they ask us to and talk about School Spirit and taking pride in our school by keeping it clean and following rules!
Please visit the reminders page for a list of upcoming events and dates!

You guys did a great job learning those color words last week! This week we will be learning about apples and Johnny Appleseed! We will learn a new letter and add more words to our reading vocabulary! Please keep an eye out for our sight word lists! These will be coming home starting around the 6th or 7th week of school! Also, progress reports will come home within the next week, just to let you know where we are so far! Thanks for all the work you do at home! It takes a village to raise a child!

Wow! Today was the first day of kindergarten! We had a great time learning all about the rules and how things work at school. We met some new people, like Mr. White our new Headmaster, Mr. Lee who keeps our room clean, Coach Copland our P.E. coach and Mrs. Frances who visits twice a day. We made something special for all you parents we had to leave at home today so you’ll get that tomorrow.
Thanks to everyone who took a wish from the Wish Wall. If you haven’t taken a wish for our classroom, please check it out soon. I’ve posted some supplies that we don’t need alot of but we do need some.
We will have a great first week of school! Check this site on Friday for our first newsletter!
